Raw image processing Library and examples for OS/2.

LibRaw is a library for reading RAW files from digital photo cameras (CRW/CR2, NEF, RAF, DNG, MOS, KDC, DCR, etc, virtually all RAW formats are supported).

Package contain also an alternate dcraw's Dave Coffin version and an abridged one.

This software is distributed in two modes:
  • as compressed package that you have to download and manually install; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too;
  • as RPM package; you can install it using your favorite rpm package manager, that will take care to download and install both the software and its prerequisites.
Choose the installation mode that you prefer. Please note that not all the versions are available in both the installation modes.

Installation with rpm

This program is installable using the rpm package manager. See below for the install string. Required prerequisites are automatically processed by the package manager and, if needed, downloaded and installed.

2024-09-18 LibRaw 0.21.3-Release * new compile-time define LIBRAW_CALLOC_RAWSTORE If defined: calloc() will be used for all big buffer allocations to prevent uninitialized heap data leak * Small allocations: calloc() instead of malloc() to prevent uninitialized heap data leak * Support for 4-component JPEG-compressed DNG files * CR3-Qstep table: avoid wrong 64-bit code generation * Fixed several bugs related to specially-crafted files processing (thanks to OSS-Fuzz project)

Manual installation

Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory and unpack to destination folder. See below for download link(s).

You can install the prerequisites with rpm running the following string in a command line:

Raw Library & DCRaw v. 4.9 (7/2/2009, Bill Nau) Readme/What's new
This is a modified version of DCRAW (ver.8.89/ rev.1.411, Jan. 4, 2009) to prototype "variance of color differences". Enhancement and refinement steps are borrowed from "hybrid CFA demosaicking". Primary goal of this work is to provide an interpolation algorithm superior to AHD in DCRAW's framework. Once this version becomes part of the standard DCRAW release, I will no longer package this modified version. At that time, please look for the regular release. To read more on DCRAW, please see http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/ To read more about the VCD modified version, please see http://sites.google.com/site/demosaicalgorithms/modified-dcraw Additional Credits: Innotek's GCC 3.2.2. Credit also goes to the "Jpeg Group" and to "Little CMS" for their libraries. Note: I'm having trouble with the PPM output, so please use the "-T" option to generate a TIFF file. - Bill
