Release date:
Monday, 2 January, 1995

Authors/Port authors:

WIN Setup is an alternate install program for Microsoft Windows 3.1.  This setup program, however, will run in a VDM, which allows end users  to install Windows on HPFS drives (for use with OS/2 for Windows versions  of OS/2).  Note that the Windows produced on your hard drive is NOT a suitable installation for use under DOS.

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

WIN Setup v. 1.30 (BBS, 2/1/1995, Jim Dahl) Readme/What's new
New in WinSetup 1.30 (01/02/95) Complete rewrite using new table lookup scheme. As the new scheme no longer relies on files being located on specific disks, this version will work much better with 5.25" diskettes, CD's, etc... than the previous version, which assumed 3.5" disks.  local copy
