This program also includes 12 new icons, taken from OS/2 Merlin as well. Whit this changes, OS/2 will have a more satisfactory look. INSTALLATION Files included in this release: Warp2Merlin.EXE - program Warp2Merlin.PAS - source code List.Pkg - filea for reempacking BUNDLE - data files WRP2MRLN.RC.English - rc for New Desktop in English WRP2MRLN.RC.Spanish - rc for New Desktop in Spanish CLOSE.BMP - close bitmap for Xit NPSWPSCB.BMP - close bitmap for NPS WPS Leame.Primero - this file, but in Spanish Readme.First - this file HISTORIA.DOC - changes history FILE_ID.DIZ - description file for BBS's The Bundle contains this files: +DSPRES.DAT - dialog icons, mouse pointers and fonts +IBMDEV32.DAT - dialog icons, mouse pointers and fonts +PMCTLS.DAT - settings notebook's buttons +PMMERGE.DAT - window's control button, and some icons +PMVIOP.DAT - command line session's icons *+PMWP.DAT - WPS icons, folder icons, etc. +WPCONFIG.DAT - setup program's icons +WPPRTMRI.DAT - spooler's job view icons * 12 cinons were added, taken from OS/2 Merlin Beta + All DAT files, are just PACK files. External programs required: (RESMGR.ZIP, by Martin Lafaix - lafaix@alto.unice.fr) RDC.CMD - extracter for the resources RESMGR.CMD - resource manager RDCPP.EXE - resources preprocesor-decompiler (LXLT115.ZIP, by Andrew Zabolotny and FRIENDS Software) UNLOCK.EXE - file unlock program LXLITE.EXE - EXE files compressor LXLITE.CFG - LXLITE configuration file (RC.EXE, UNPACK.EXE, *PACK.EXE, by MS and IBM Corp.) RC.EXE - resources compiler UNPACK.EXE - Bundel files unpacker *PACK.EXE - file packer * included in this package Copy the first 2 files (WRP2MRLN.EXE - BUNDLE) too any directory on your OS/2 boot drive, and the rest, to a directory in your PATH. USING WARP2MERLIN When you execute Warp2Merlin, the program will create a backup directory called "\OS2\DLL\Backup", and the files that'll be changed will be copied there before the modifications, so, if there's a power fail, or something, the original files are safe, and can be restored. Then, the files will be copied to the work directory with respectly name, there the bundle file will be unpacked, and the Warp2Merlin will change the resorurces. You will be informed of any part of the process, and the meter tell you the precentage of the work. The process cab be aborted by just press CTRL-C at any moment. Note: At the DLL compression, may appear the system hangs, but it doesn't, dont worry. *** Please Be Patient ** MODIFICATIONS This is the files that will be modified: DSPRES.DLL IBMDEV32.DLL PMCTLS.DLL PMMERGE.DLL PMVIOP.DLL PMWP.DLL WPCONFIG.DLL WPPRTMRI.DLL After all is is finished, the program ask if you want to shutdown the System, and then you will restart press Ctrl-Alt-Del after the restart see some new icons on the desktop. No all icons are changed, to do this, you will need make another desktop. I suggest do this using the file WRP2MRLN.RC (with command: MAKEINI INI.INI WRP2MRLN.RC.English). Then, You will have a new way to look OS/2 Warp. TROUBLES AND NEW FEATURES Some Icons looks very nasty in low Resolutions and less 256 colors My recomendations are No Use This progran in Less colors. May be Some Icons will distortioned o looks some lines or dots in this happen when the files are packed with Lxlite.exe the solution is Not Packing the files, Always not happen, I don't know whi? :( Runtime Error happened when the Space in HD overed, but the program needs 3 times the size of the files to be modified this is for the "1st copy is the Backup" "2th is the copy to be modified" and "3th are the original files to be replaced" Runtime Error happened when Wrp2Mrln tried make the "\OS2\DLL\Backup" dir and this are created previusly. The program sends SYS1040 error when some files are needed could be found to make the process y its are out of the PATH, No More are needed this longer. Before, the Packing with LXLite Its Make it with the files placed in "\OS2\DLL\", Not Before to replaced. If the program was be executed in the same Dir with RESMGR.CMD this is deleted no more in this version. This packing the DLLs with LxLite without Ask, Now ask for do it. The BUNDLE file Are restructured in Dirs. see List.Pkg The sequence are restructured. No needed move BUNDLE and Warp2Merlin.exe to other directory. Unzip by INFO-Zip no neede more in this version.
