Star is the fastest tar archiver for UNIX. The OS/2 port features full support for 64bit file I/O and ability to backup and restore OS/2 EAs. The included rexx scripts allow a rotation scheme for backups.
Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory and unpack to destination folder: they can be placed everywhere. The main program is named star_fat.exe

Star is the fastest tar archiver for UNIX.
The OS/2 port features full support for 64bit file I/O and ability to backup and
restore OS/2 EAs.
The main program is named star_fat.exe, if you rename it to tar.exe (or gnutar.exe, ...)
it will change his default behaviour (included are symlinks, but they will not work
without proper setup/tools).

Installation
------------
Unzip the files on your disk: they can be placed everywhere.
The included rexx scripts allow a rotation scheme for backups.
Known problems
--------------
- This kind of reports
/xxx/xxx/xxx: invalid arguments
means that the file was locked and it has been not possible to backup EAs.
