New Athena Unicode is a freeware multilingual font distributed by the American Philological Association under OpenFontLicense. It follows the latest version of the Unicode standard and includes characters for English and Western European languages, polytonic Greek, Coptic, Old Italic, and Demotic Egyptian (and Arabic) transliteration, as well as metrical symbols and other characters used by classical scholars.

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

Is possible to enhance OS/2 standard TT font rendering using Innotek Font Engine or Freetype/2 and adding to the registry the value "Enabled=dword:00000001" for the specific application (if supported) in the subkeys "[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\InnoTek\InnoTek Font Engine\Applications\]".

New Athena Unicode Fonts v. 5.0.0.2 (20/7/2015)	Readme/What's new	July 2015: 5.002 --The glyphs for capital stigma (U+03da) and for capital modern koppa (U+03de) have been revised for better matching of the lowercase forms. The previous shapes were based on much earlier versions of the Unicode charts and should have been revised long ago. The regular and the styled versions are now all at version 5.002, dated July 12, 2015.
