Release date:
Tuesday, 1 February, 2005

Interface:

Authors/Port authors:

The InnoTek Font Engine for OS/2 is a port of the Freetype 2 font engine to the OS/2 Warp platform which provides a tight integration with the OS/2 graphics subsystem. It is designed to be able to replace the OS/2 font rendering subsystem for selected (certified) applications, as Mozilla and OpenOffice.

The application is not developed anymore: use Freetype instead.

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

Manual installation

Self-installing package. IMPORTANT! If you have already installed a 1.x version of the font engine, please uninstall it:

  • locate the installation(s) of Mozilla, Mozilla Firebird, IBM Web Browser for OS/2 that the font engine has been applied to;
  • restore components\gfx_os2.bak to components\gfx_os2.dll and MozillaFirebird.bak to MozillaFirebird.exe.
