With WOL you can 'wake up' your pc simply by sending a 'magic packet' over the network.

WOL.EXE for use with OS/2 2.x platform.
Program expects a parameter which should be a mac address or
option -f=<file>. The screen output can be disabled with
option -q for using from at or cron,
option -d=<ms> delays ms milliseconds between sending magic packets,
option -b=<bcast> optional broadcast address in number-and-dot notation
or in hex format. Also its possible to specify the broadcast in front of
the mac address separated with - which also works in files.
