OS2PopS - A full function POP server for OS/2 .
Just what is a POP server you may ask? POP stands for Post Office Protocol and it defines a series of commands that a POP client may use to interact with a POP server. These commands are detailed in RFC (Request For Comments) 1939.
Basically, a POP server interacts with a mail client to deliver mail that has been received via TCP/IP (specifically via SMTP). There are a number of POP mail clients available for just about every operating system that is available today. If you have an account with an ISP (Internet Service Provider) chances are very good that your mail is delivered to you from a POP server.
OS2PopS is easy to use and simple to install. Written entirely in Rexx, with the graphical interface provided by VX-Rexx, the OS2PopS POP server can handle from 1 to an unlimited number of clients (depending on the hardware used of course).
Taking advantage of the multi-tasking and threading in OS/2, OS2PopS provides exceptional response for your clients. Extensive data may be logged to allow you to generate reports and debug problems if necessary.
