This package contains the MP3 support module (MMIOProc) from Russell O'Conner's MMAudioPak, repackaged for easy installation on eComStation (v1.2 and later).

This allows playback of MP3 audio files directly from the Workplace Shell without the need for a standalone player.

The project is currently updated by Gregg Young and by Greggory Shaw, who has also enrich it with a comfortable setup.

The Media Pack in fact is not only a rexx script able to successfully install the MP3 codecs, but install also Mplayer, remove the existing classes MMAVI and set the bindings for the most popular video codecs, making Mplayer the default player for eComStation.

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

Manual installation

Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory, run MINSTALL and follow the instructions. MINSTALL will allow you to select which IOprocs you wish to install. The zip file also contains an uninstall script, and other useful executables that you might wish to keep around. For Media Pack, see the readme included.

See below for download link(s). IBM OS/2 Warp 4 and above or OS/2 Warp with CWMM installed supporting Rexx interpreter are needed. To install the Media Pack also kLIBC / GCC Runtime Library is required.
