DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL-library which makes DOSBox very easy to port to different platforms. DOSBox emulates CPU:286/386 realmode/protected mode, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, Tandy/Hercules/CGA/EGA/VGA/VESA graphics, a SoundBlaster/Gravis Ultra Sound card for excellent sound compatibility with older games. There is also a configuration GUI frontend.
DOSBox is an added value for OS/2: The operating system indeed, already natively supports virtualization of the Operating System DOS and Microsoft Windows 3.x graphic environment, and almost all of the software written for these systems/environments is quietly executable with native OS/2 technology.
