DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL-library which makes DOSBox very easy to port to different platforms. DOSBox emulates CPU:286/386 realmode/protected mode, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, Tandy/Hercules/CGA/EGA/VGA/VESA graphics, a SoundBlaster/Gravis Ultra Sound card for excellent sound compatibility with older games. There is also a configuration GUI frontend.
DOSBox is an added value for OS/2: The operating system indeed, already natively supports virtualization of the Operating System DOS(link is external) and Microsoft Windows 3.x graphic environment, and almost all of the software written for these systems/environments is quietly executable with native OS/2 technology.
