This README contains information
about an updated OS2 Loader that applies to the following Systems
OS/2 Warp 4 with FixPack 13,
OS/2 Warp Server for e-business,
OS/2 Warp 4 Convenience Pack 1,
OS/2 Warp 4 Convenience Pack 2,
OS/2 Warp Server for e-business Convenience Pack 1,
OS/2 Warp Server for e-business Convenience Pack 2.

1.0 Introduction

This OS2LDR.EXE package provides you with an updated os2ldr file for
the OS/2 Operating System. The new loader fixes a system error
that can cause system freeze. This error can occur on a PC with a PCI
bus and many PCI different cards.
This OS2 Loader is required for Enhanced SpeedStep support. If you are
installing Enhanced SpeedStep on existing installed system that does
not have Enhanced SpeedStep, then you may be required to install this
OS2 Loader prior to the Installation of the Enhanced SpeedStep package.
1.1 The OS2LDR.EXE file that you received contains the following 9 files
in a self-extracting compressed format.
OS2LDR.TXT This file that you are reading
OS2LDR.UNI Retail version of os2ldr for UNI system.
OS2LDR.SMP Retail version of os2ldr for SMP system.
OS2LDRD.UNI Debug version of os2ldr for UNI system.
OS2LDRD.SMP Debug version of os2ldr for SMP system.
OS2LDR.MSG Loader language dependent message file.
LDRINST.EXE Installation file
1.2 The 9 languages that are supported by this installation package are:
o English
o French
o Italian
o German
o Spanish
o Japanese
o Brazilian Portuguese
o Simplified Chinese
o Traditional Chinese
2.0 Package Extraction Files Procedures
________________________________________
To use these driver files, you must expand the OS2LDR.EXE
file into its 15 component files by
(a.) opening an OS/2 window and
(b.) changing to the temporary directory where OS2LDR.EXE is
stored and
(c.) typing
OS2LDR -d
at the OS/2 command prompt.
Once the OS2LDR.EXE file is expanded, please continue with the
Installation Instructions.
3.0 Package Installation Instructions

3.1 Extract files as described in 2.0.
3.2 Change to the temporary directory where OS2LDR package is
stored and type
LDRINST.EXE
Your old os2ldr file will be saved as os2ldr.d**.
Your old os2ldr.msg file will be saved as os2ldr.m**.
Where ** is two digital number. For example os2ldr.d01 and os2ldr.m01.
3.3 You must reboot the system. This completes this package installation
procedure.
4.0 Package Uninstall Instructions

4.1 Extract files as described in 2.0.
4.2 At the OS/2 root directory type
LDRUINST.CMD
4.3 Safely shutdown and then reboot your system.
