The Family FunPak for OS/2 Warp is a broad array of home titles in a single value-packed package. Designed for the home PC user, this unique collection of entertainment, education reference and financial management programs includes something for every member of the household. The Family FunPak comes packaged with the new line of Aptiva* personal computer systems from the IBM PC Company, in retail outlets today. The Family FunPak is scheduled for release as a stand-alone product in early September, 1995. "Our Family FunPak allows the whole family to have fun while taking advantage of OS/2 Warp's easy to use graphical user interface and built-in Internet connection," says Wally Casey, Director of Marketing for IBM Personal Software Products. "The collection represents an unbeatable value that will hit the stores in time for the 1995 holiday buying season." Value and Variety for the Whole Family The Family FunPak offers twelve dynamic programs for Mom, Dad, teenagers and kids. Containing over $500 worth of edutainment software on one CD-ROM, the Family FunPak delivers ten native OS/2 titles with the added bonus of one DOS and one Windows** program that run on OS/2 Warp (Blue Spine version). Family FunPak games, entertainment, education, reference and personal financial management titles include: Star Emperor offers a rich universe of alien civilizations, political intrigue and intergalactic warfare. A space-based strategy game, Star Emperor has a powerful engine that controls several computer players against the human player. Star Emperor was created by the makers of the hit strategy game Galactic Civilization for OS/2. SimCity Classic Limited puts the player in the mayor's office. SimCity provides all the tools to plan, lay out, build and manage a city with complete authority. But mayor beware - natural and man-made forces may threaten even the most well-planned city! MicroLearn Game Pack, Volume 1, is a collection of OS/2 brain teasers. These ten puzzle games are not only intriguing, they can be addictive! TD-Gammon is a world-famous computer game that has revolutionized the game of backgammon. Based on breakthrough technological research, TD-Gammon actually taught itself to play so well it is considered one of the most challenging computer opponents in the world. Havoc for OS/2 Warp puts the player in control of a small blue spaceship. The mission is to destroy all the asteroids in each sector. The twist is the asteroids don't destroy easily, they just break into smaller asteroids -- wreaking havoc on the player! Rapid Assault is a brand new, fast-action arcade-style DOS game. The player controls a hovercraft and shoots down approaching enemy craft in a 360-degree virtual landscape. Magic Canvas is a Windows** paint program for children ages 3 to 10. The computer becomes the canvas as children use backgrounds, characters, objects and shapes to create imaginative scenes and pictures. Painting on the canvas is as simple as clicking on the crayon button on the screen. Pictures can also be saved and printed. American Heritage Dictionary Concise Edition is a professional on-line reference for home, school or office. Definitions, pronunciation, hyphenation, abbreviation, word origins, proper usage, idioms, inflections and sample sentences are available for more than 50,000 words. The wildcard feature finds words when the user doesn't know all the letters, and the anagram feature locates words within a word. Child Development Guide is a fact-filled on-line source for parents with information on pregnancy, child birth and child rearing from newborn to five years old. Features include a glossary of baby names categorized by nationality and an on-line baby book for recording facts about the child's life. In Charge at Home is a financial management program featuring seven easy-to-use systems: Account, Budget, Bills, Property, Securities, Insurance and Tax Management. This powerful program will help any user take control of managing finances and accounts. OS/2 Poker is an exciting casino-style game written by a former Las Vegas Pit Boss. Players can challenge the computer, select rules and choose screen colors, or play just like a real Video Poker machine. OS/2 Blackjack is another fast-paced casino-style game. Players can modify bets before each hand and even set up the game to simulate the house rules of their favorite casino. Quality Software that's Easy to Use The Family FunPak comprises first-rate, quality titles. Star Emperor, Child Development and Rapid Assault are available in the Family FunPak for the very first time.
