A note about the future of ecsoft2.org

ecsoft2.org runs on software (Drupal 7 and PHP 7.4) that reached its end of life years ago and no longer receives security updates. Keeping the site online safely is getting harder.

Giving it a future means migrating it to a current platform — and that is only worth doing if people still use it and want to help keep it alive.

If you care about ecsoft2.org, as a user, a contributor, or someone willing to lend a hand, please ggambatiscali [dot] it (get in touch) by January 31, 2027.

If no one comes forward by then, the site will be turned into a read-only archive, so that its content stays available.

MSS is an abbreviation for Martin's Server Suite which currently consist of Yet Another FTP Server and Snug HTTP server. Although Yet Another FTP Server and Snug HTTP server can be used independent of each other, they function very well together to run and maintain a small web site. MSS is a way of distribute them both in a single package. MSS and its components was designed to run on old operating system as well as on more recent releases. MSS can bring your old hardware and software back to life again!

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

Manual installation

Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory and unpack to destination folder. Unzip to destination folder and edit "*.INI" files to configure. There is a complete documentation in the package. See below for download link(s).

A server should not be too easy to setup for common people. It should take some skill to setup a server. Otherwise, the rest of the system is probably already compromised and the security overlooked, which is not a good thing on a server machine. With this said, MSS is easy to setup but it is not the intention to make it the easiest server suite to setup.
