This diskette contains v2.12 of the KIPP peripheral drivers for use with
Kofax scan and print controllers.
====================
General Installation
====================
To install the drivers, run the INSTALL.EXE program on the diskette. The
installation program will ask you for the following information, which you
should have ready before you start the installation:
Type of board you are installing (KF-7300, KF-9250, etc.)
I/O address of board
Interrupt level of the board (IRQ setting)
Name and model number of your peripherals (for example, Fujitsu 3093)
After the installation program is finished, you must run the KIPPCFG.EXE
program to configure your peripherals. The KIPPCFG program may be run
anytime you change peripherals or otherwise wish to change your
configuration.
Before you can use your KIPP controller boards, you must modify your
CONFIG.SYS and STARTUP.CMD files. The configuration program places the
instructions for modifying these files in the CONFIG.DOC file. Follow those
instructions.
Once the installation and configuration are finished, reboot your PC.
Before booting the PC, be sure all peripherals are powered up and properly
cabled to the Kofax controller. If the peripherals are not powered up
during initialization, the KIPP 2.12 drivers may not operate properly.
=====
Notes
=====
The initialization of the Kofax board for use with KIPP 2.12 replaces any
KIPP 1.xx driver installation. After initializing the Kofax
board for use with KIPP 2.12, the KIPP 1.xx driver will be inoperative. It
is best to remove the KIPP 1.xx driver before running LOADFW.BAT by
modifying your AUTOEXEC.BAT file as follows:
(1) Remove the KIPP 1.xx directory from the PATH.
(2) Remove the CALL KF9X00 line.
==================================
Note for Microchannel Installation
==================================
During hardware installation and setup using the reference diskette,
you are given the choice of "Run Automatic Configuration?" You
may choose "Y", and then use the new MCACONF.EXE program to identify
the hardware options selected during automatic configuration.
@7055.adf is the configuration file for KF-9250 Microchannel boards.
@7054.adf is the configuration file for KF-9275 Microchannel boards.
