You must specify which adapters you want information for when invoking DIRSTATC. Valid parameters for DIRSTATC are: /0 - Information on adapter 0 /1 - Information on adapter 1 /2 - Information on adapter 2 /3 - Information on adapter 3 Example: Get information on the primary adapter. (Adapter 0) DIRSTATC /0 The programs provide you with the following adapter information: - Adapter Type i.e. Token Ring, PC Network, Ethernet, etc. - Adapter Specific Info Ring Number Data Rate Microcode Level Early Token Release Ring Utilization (must have proper hardware and software) Shared Ram - Addresses Local (Canonical form also provided) Universal (Canonical form also provided) Group Functional - SAP Info Maximum Open - Station Info Maximum Open Anyone who manages PCs on a LAN can see the benefits offered by DIRSTAT. It will allow you to easily figure out network addresses, ring speed, and other adapter specific information that is needed for day to day operations. NOTES: - Ring utilization is only supported if you are running: 1. The latest LAN device drivers such as the ones shipped with OS/2 2.0 and ES 1.0 or DOS and Lan Support Program 1.2 2. You have a new Token-Ring adapter that supports this function such as adapter part number 74F9410, feature code 0149, part number 0933931, feature code 3931, part number 0933462, feature code 8072, part number 73G2032, feature code 7462, part number 74G0801, feature code 8998, part number 74G0103, feature code 8942. - Ring utilization always zero This is a LAPS bug. You need to get APAR IC07486 to fix the problem. - NETWARE users will get incorrect output. The problem is being looked at. - You may get several errors when trying to run DIRSTAT or DIRSTATC. A return code of 0x5? usually indicates that: - The 802.2 interface is not installed for the adapter Use Comm. Mgr or Lan Services to add 802.2 to the adapter - You need to increase the number of users of the 802.2 interface Use Comm. Mgr or Lan Services to increase the number of users - All errors returned by DIRSTAT and DIRSTATC are CCB return codes which are documented in the IBM Local Area Network Technical Reference.
