If you are connecting to a rsync daemon running on Linux and get an error like "unexpected tag 33 [Receiver] rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(1141) [Receiver=3.0.9]", try the parameter "--protocol=30" (thanks to Steven Levine, see http://mail.2rosenthals.com:8100/Lists/gnuports/Message/429.html?Language= )

As of 4 February 2018, the link to Steven Levine's website is not working.
