Interface:

The MySQL database server is the world's most widely used open source database. Its ingenious software architecture makes it extremely fast and easy to customize (ported by different authors).

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

Manual installation

Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory and unpack to destination folder. See below for download link(s). For a new 5.1.72 installation:

  • in the destination folder, unzip mysql_sample_database.zip to create the \data directory
  • create a program object for mysqld!l.exe
  • run mysql_upgrade to upgrade mysql tables
  • with the command "mysqladmin -u root password NEWPASSWORD" set new password for "root" user

Useful WPS objects, assuming program was installed in C:\PROGRAMS\MYSQL5 directory:

  • "C:\PROGRAMS\MYSQL5\BIN\MYSQL.EXE" for a "Console" object
  • "C:\PROGRAMS\MYSQL5\BIN\MYSQLD!L.EXE" for a "Start server" object
  • "C:\PROGRAMS\MYSQL5\BIN\MYSQLD!L.EXE -u root shutdown" for a "Shutdown server" object

Following ones are the download links for manual installation:
