Documentation SECTOR.DLL ======================== In the sector.dll are five functions as REXX-extension. The are loaded by : call RxFuncAdd 'QDrive', 'sector', 'QDrive' call RxFuncAdd 'QPDrive', 'sector', 'QPDrive' call RxFuncAdd 'ReadSect', 'sector', 'ReadSect' call RxFuncAdd 'WritSect', 'sector', 'WritSect' call RxFuncAdd 'ReadPSect','sector', 'ReadPSect' QDrive ====== QDrive has a driveletter as argument and returns some drive-info. Example : info = QDrive('c:') The string info contains 5 numbers : 1.) number of sectors of the drive 2.) number of cylinders of the drive 3.) number of heads 4.) number of sectors per track 5.) number of bytes per sector (disks=512, CDROM=2048 !!) QPDisk ====== QPDisk has a number of a physical disk as argument and returns some disk-info. Example : info = QPDisk('1:') The string info contains 3 numbers : 1.) number of sectors of the disk 2.) number of cylinders of the disk 3.) number of heads ReadSect ======== ReadSect read one sector. The first parameter is the drive-letter. The second parameter is the sector-number to read. The result is a 512 byte long string. Example: buffer = ReadSect('a:',7) WriteSect ========= WritSect writes one sector. The first parameter is the drive-letter. The second parameter is the sector-number to read. The third parameter is a 512 byte long string, which will be written to the specified sector. The result is 0 for no-error and 108 if the drive cannot be locked Example: rc = WritSect('a:',7, buffer) ReadPSect ========= ReadPS reads a sector from the physical disk. You must supply the drive, Cylinder, head and sectornumber which the function will read. The drive has to be "1:" for the first partitionable drive. The next one will be "2:" and so on. The number of cylinder, head and sector are all based on 0. The very first sector of the first harddrive would be read by : buffer = ReadPSect('1:', 0, 0, 0) No warrenty at all. Be careful with WritSect (possible data-damage !)
