PM-Equator v. 0.1 (8/10/2001, Frank Sven Nestel) Readme/What's new
THIS IS THE "RELAUNCH" OF PMEQUATOR. Ignore all nag screens messages, read.me's and licenses found elsewhere in this project. This source code is thought as open source freeware as is. If you use larger portions of code from this project, I'd not mind to be mentioned. All URL's and EMAILS contained in this projects files are basically outdated. A good URL to get in contact with me, is http://doris-frank.de and a good e-Mail is dorisnfrank@bigfoot.com Personally I've haven't looked at those files for years. (Currently I'm mainly involved programming web applications with Java, XML and XSLT.) Looking at the source right now they do not look too complicated. As far as I remember I made the program with nagscreens and you needed a license key to get rid of them. I've included the sourcecode of the key generator, but probably it is easier to remove the nagtexts anyway. A few hints on the source code: Header (.h) files belong to their C source (.cc) The files are .cc, but I think they are rather ansi-C than C++ Comments are in german. Sorry. There is a makefile, I used emx, but my current install lacks bsd-lib. genprob.cc central code to actually generate 4 basic kinds of problems. mixtool.cc varies one of the 4 basic problem types by certain operations 3type.cc simple commandline implementation systems.cc improved commandline implementation, quite nice :-) evalprb2.cc tries to estimas how difficult a problem is evalprob.cc ditto the last modules know quite a few tricks which help me solving those puzzles, but still they sometimes fail.. pmeq1.cc main entry for the PM program pmgenprb.cc a pmeq wrapper to genprob.cc pmhelp.cc started a context sensitive help pmini.cc ini file handling. Mainly highscores. pmmnwin.cc implements the window of the GUI testini.cc figuring out the ini-API and testing inis if valid... Artwork and drag and drop are crude. Scoring is improveable. Some features only worked with one of the two icon sets chooseable. But the puzzles are pretty cute. Actually I tought myself Java in 1996 and there is a applet to generate and display those puzzles (no help with solving). It is still working and available under: http://doris-frank.de/home/Puzzle.html and even received a jars rating of 825. Enjoy, Frank (dorisnfrank@bigfoot.com) PS Want to know how old I am? Look at the magic number and how germans write dates. No flowers for birthday please. ---------------------------------------------- PMEquator 0.1 - Frank Nestel Last Code Update - 1995-Jul-09 The Game Author is Frank Nestel and can be contacted at: info@doris-frank.de This game has been released as Freeware-OpenSource. PM-Equator v. 0.1 (9/7/1995, Frank Sven Nestel) Readme/What's new
PM_EQUATOR v0.1 (C) 1995 Frank Sven Nestel Number puzzles for OS/2-PM. * Generates various types of equators. * Allows to solve them interactivly with the mouse. * Various different skill levels can be selected. * Two different playing/scoring modes. * Keeps track of two types of highscores and fastest solutions. INSTALLATION: ============= To install move pmeq1.exe, pmeq1.ini and pmeq1.hlp to your game directory. You also need EMX.DLL and EMXLIBCM.DLL, both belonging to the Super EMX GNU C port by Eberhard Mattes (see COPYING.EMX). If you don't have them allready, please put them somewhere, where OS/2 finds them (OS2\DLL or in the LIBPATH). Note: If you forget pmeq1.ini, the program uses the global OS/2 INI files you might avoid that! To start pmeq1.exe double click on the program or install a program on the WPS object pointing at pmeq1.exe and start from there. In case the extended attributes of pmeq1.exe got lost the package also contains the icon file pmeq1.ico. Frank Sven Nestel nestel@am.uni-erlangen.de P.S.: Please have a look at REGISTER.TXT!
