µDesk (MultiDesk) è un programma che consentirà di avere molteplici desktop su OS/2. Attualmente fa qualcosa in più, presenta un login al boot e quando l'utente viene riconosciuto può:

  • impostare le variabili di ambiente (HOME, USER, etc.)
  • blocca alcuni files di modo che gli utenti non possano toccarli
  • esegue uno script in rexx personalizzabile prima e dopo il login
  • avvia un desktop personalizzato
  • registra una traccia degli accessi (user name, time, login falliti..)

Il 26/07/2013, l'autore, Cristiano Guadagnino, ha rilasciato µDesk 0.2.0 come software Open Source, sotto licenza GPL. Gli utenti OS/2 ed eComstation ringraziano Cristiano Guadagnino ed augurano a µDesk un radioso futuro!!

Questo software è distribuito come pacchetto compresso, da scaricare e installare manualmente; se ci sono prerequisiti da soddisfare, andranno anch'essi scaricati e installati manualmente.

Installazione manuale

Disponibile sia in formato ZIP che WarpIN:

  • scaricare il pacchetto ZIP in una cartella temporanea e scompattarlo nella cartella di destinazione;
  • Prerequisiti: OS/2 Warp 4.0 e superiore Rexx (tradizionale), utility MAKEINI.EXE.
