Gopher is an OS/2 Presentation Manager client for the Internet Gopher protocol, originally developed at the University of Minnesota.

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

You should have the following files: GOPHER.EXE -- the executable for the Gopher client GOPHER.HLP -- the help file for Gopher LICENSE.TXT -- the license agreement GOPHER.ABS -- a very short description of Gopher README.1ST -- this file To use Gopher: 1) Ensure that you have IBM OS/2 TCP/IP Version 1.2.1 (or later), and that your system is connected to a network with a Gopher server. 2) If you know the name of the Gopher server to which you'd like to connect, type: GOPHER name-of-server 3) If you want to connect to the default server (normally IBM's OS/2 Gopher server), just type: GOPHER 4) Extensive online help is available. You must put the GOPHER.HLP file into a directory on your HELP path; typically, you would put it into the TCP/IP HELP subdirectory. This version of Gopher is exactly the same as the version supplied with the Bonus Pack in OS/2 Warp; it is made available for those users who cannot yet upgrade to OS/2 Warp.
