Enchanced Joystick Driver v. 0.2 (30/12/2001, Netlabs, Vesa Jääskeläinen) Readme/What's new
Enchanced Joystick Driver v0.2 - XMas edition --------------------------------------------- Copyright (c) 1999 Vesa Jääskeläinen (jaaskela@tietomyrsky.fi) YOU WILL USE THIS DRIVER AT YOUR OWN RISK! I CAN ONLY SAY THAT IT WORKS FOR ME. Table of Contents ----------------- 0. XMas Edition 1. Introduction 2. What's new 3. Installation 0. XMas Edition --------------- I decided to make XMas edition of this driver, there will be additions in future but needed to release new interface specification and to give larger joystick support. There may be bug in this release, in case you find them please report them to me. 1. Introduction --------------- Since there wasn't so many joystick drivers for OS/2, xxx announced joystick driver competition and I decided to make my entry. This driver support joysticks with multiple axis and multiple buttons. If you need to change joystick you won't need to boot (like with many other driver), just use configuration tool to change it, remember to calibrate it before using it. I will continue updating this driver after joystick competition ends, when I will get joystick which is not supported I will add support for it and release new version of this driver. 2. What's New ------------- *** Version v0.2 *** - Changed driver name (was Gravis GamePad Pro Joystick driver) - Complete new desing - Support for following joysticks - No joystick - Generic 4 axis and 4 button joystick - Gravis GamePad Pro (in GrIP mode) - CH FlightStick Pro *** Version v0.1a *** - Added 8 button joystick emulation to dos session and for old OS/2 joystick interface. - Updated joystick test program *** Version v0.1 *** - First public version 3. Installation --------------- If you have previously installed other joystick drivers please uninstall them before installing this driver. I was planning to use Multimedia Installer but then it just trapped, so only manual installation is told here: 1. Make backup of your CONFIG.SYS 2. Unpack this package to example C:\DRIVERS\JOYSTICK 3. Add two entries to CONFIG.SYS: DEVICE=C:\DRIVERS\JOYSTICK\GAMEDD.SYS DEVICE=C:\DRIVERS\JOYSTICK\GAMEVDD.SYS 4. Just reboot 5. Add icon for joyconf.exe to your desktop. 6. Configure your joystick. 7. Start playing with it. 4. Uninstallation ----------------- This is quite easy to do. 1. Remove joyconf.exe icon from your desktop 2. Remove following lines from your CONFIG.SYS: DEVICE=C:\DRIVERS\JOYSTICK\GAMEDD.SYS DEVICE=C:\DRIVERS\JOYSTICK\GAMEVDD.SYS 3. Reboot 4. Remove driver directory (C:\DRIVERS\JOYSTICK) 5. Command line --------------- You can use JOYCONF.EXE to load saved configurations. Just included full filename as paramter and it will loader configs from configuration file. Example: JOYCONF.EXE C:\DRIVERS\JOYSTICK\JOYSTICK.CFG 5. Final words -------------- I will add installer in near future but my time is currently limited. I'll home that you have enjoyable experinces with joystick under OS/2.
