TestDisk checks the partition and boot sectors of your disks. It is very useful in recovering lost partitions. PhotoRec is file data recovery software designed to recover lost pictures from digital camera memory or even Hard Disks. It has been extended to search also for non audio/video headers.

This software is distributed as compressed package. You have to download and manually install it; if prerequisites are required, you will have to manually install them too.

Manual installation

Program is distributed as ZIP package: download to temporary directory and unpack to destination folder. See below for download link(s).

Following is a list of prerequisites that you have to manually install in order to have the program working:

kLIBC / GCC Runtime Library

You can install the prerequisites with rpm running the following string in a command line:

yum install libc
